A support group, under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC), City Boy Progressive Group has lauded the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) for rescinding its decision not to support the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the vexed Muslim-Muslim ticket.

It had earlier been reported that Christian leaders under CAN had decided to reconsider their stance on the issue of Muslim- Muslim ticket and may have Tinubu the benefit of doubt ahead of the 2023 polls.
The APC presidential candidate had on Wednesday met with the leadership of CAN where he was given a document containing the demands of the Christian leaders.
At the roundtable, Tinubu had assured them that he would not run his administration on the basis of religion if elected as president.
Reacting to Wednesdays meeting between the two parties, the Abuja coordinator of City Boy Progressive Group, Pastor Olanrewaju Omolayo, commended CAN for softening its stance. She said it showed that the CAN leadership has shifted from their previous stance of not supporting the same faith ticket.
Also, the Director-General of the group, Mercy Williams, boasted that Tinubu would defeat his political opponents at the February 25 presidential poll.
